Care Guide

POTTERY

Our Ivy at Home hand-thrown, hand-painted pottery is both dishwasher-safe and oven-safe, making it as functional as it is beautiful.

To preserve the original finish and ensure your pieces stay in pristine condition for years to come, we recommend hand washing whenever possible.

You may occasionally hear popping sounds as the pottery adjusts to temperature changes—this is completely normal and part of the character of our rustic ceramic style.

Similarly, over time you may notice small grey markings on the surface. These are not cracks, but a natural result of the red clay firing and glazing process, intentionally preserved as a hallmark of our handmade aesthetic.

Each piece is unique in color, shape, and detailing, and we celebrate this individuality. We encourage you to mix and match across different batches and patterns—this layered, collected look is at the heart of true Ivy style.

VINTAGE TABLE LINENS

Our Ivy at Home vintage tablecloth linens have been lovingly preserved for decades, bringing both history and beauty to your table. They are durable enough for everyday use, yet delicate enough to reward a little extra care.

To preserve their vibrant prints and soft hand feel, we recommend machine-washing in cold water with a gentle detergent and drying on low heat or, even better, line-drying in the shade. Hand washing is always welcome if you’d like to extend their life even further.

You may notice faint irregularities in color or weave. These are not flaws, but natural signs of age and authenticity that we intentionally preserve as part of the fabric’s story.

Over time, some vintage dyes may soften slightly with repeated washing, adding to the linens’ charm and patina. To keep colors fresh, wash items with similar shades and avoid bleach or harsh chemicals.

Each piece is unique, from its mid-century motifs to the way it has worn gracefully over the years. We encourage you to layer different patterns and eras together—the collected, time-worn mix is at the heart of true Ivy style.

HANDMADE STRIPED CUSHIONS

Our Ivy at Home handmade cushions are crafted with durable waterproof canvas covers and feather-filled inserts, designed to bring both comfort and longevity to your home.

For everyday care, simply remove the cushion inserts, then shake or brush away loose dirt and dust. Spot clean with a mild dish soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly, and allow the covers to air dry completely.

When a deeper clean is needed, and only occasionally, the covers may be washed on a gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent. Air dry fully before reinserting the cushions. Please avoid tumble drying or exposing the fabric to high heat, as this can damage both the canvas and the feathers.

Over time, your cushions may soften and take on a lived-in character, reflecting their handmade nature. We embrace these subtle changes as part of their charm, and we encourage you to mix and layer them across rooms and patterns—the collected, relaxed look is something to be celebrated.
